Success For The Average Man – Woman Part 9 Thoughts Are Things

Thoughts are Things

The world’s greatest thinkers, philosophers, educators and religious leaders have constantly told us “Your life is what your thoughts make it.” Your thoughts control your lives long before the world was given the Laws of Quantum Physics,” which tell us scientifically that “Thoughts are Things.” Great men said it in many different ways.

Henry Ford said, “Whether you think you’ll succeed, or think you will fail, you are right.”

Emerson said, “All thought tends to convert itself into action.”

William James said, “Dynamic Thought or belief helps create the actual fact.”

Buddha said, “All that we are is the result of past thoughts.”

There are thousands of books written on positive thinking and positive mental atitude. You can go out on the Net and download free E-book copies. It is wise to build a library of these type of books and read a little every day.

There is a quicker way to success than just reading positive thinking books. Action, doing, exercise and practice. You will develop more power, physical, mental and spiritual for any skill you want in 30 minutes of practice than in 10 years of positive thinking.

The fastest path to success is combining action with positive thinking. Positive thinking motivates us to action. When we wander from our goals they show us the way back. They continuously awaken new brain cells.

This is all good, but the real key is action, doing, practicing. Start writing, start painting, start gardening, start playing that instrument, start looking at new money making ideas. Act, practice and practice some more. Action gets things done. Action moves mountains.

Positive thinking and a positive mental attitude keeps our highest moments permanent. What great things we could accomplish if we could keep these moments alive in our minds permanently. But they fade and we need to renew them. We need daily mental food as our bodies need daily physical food. We need daily reminders.

The best way to remind ourselves daily is with Auto Suggestion. Auto Suggestion is a power builder. Never neglect it, for developing confidence, courage and a positive mental attitude.

Talk to yourself. Talk to yourself.

Auto Suggestion harnesses the power of your subconscious mind, Universal Power, The Mind of God. This is now what we know as the Quantum Ocean. Talking to yourself, talks to the Mind of God which attracts what you want out of the Quantum Ocean. All power lies there waiting for you to call upon it.

Cove’s old fashioned Auto Suggestion is one of the best.

“Every day in every way, I am getting better and better.” Say it aloud when you awake before you go to sleep. Saying it while you are driving in your car. Turn the radio off with all it’s noise. Pay yourself with your own thoughts.

Get a little plastic hand clicker and click every time you say it. Go for 1,000 clicks, 10,000 a million!

One last important quote by Emmet Fox:

“What you think upon grows. Whatever you allow to occupy your mind you magnify in your life.Whether the subject of thought be good or bad, the law works and the condition grows. Any subject that you keep out of your mind tends to diminish in your life, because what you do not use atrophies. The more you think of grievance’s, the more such trials you will continue to receive. The more you think of the good fortune you have had, the more good fortune will come to you.”

When Thoughts Become Things.

We’ve all heard the saying that “talk is cheap.” In fact we’ve heard it so often it’s become a cliché. Like most cliché’s the law of familiarity has set in and keeps us from actually absorbing the true meaning of the phrase. We’ve grown so tired of hearing it that we don’t really listen to it anymore. The fact remains that talk is cheap. It is easy to talk about things and most people do. In fact most people “talk a great game” on a regular basis. The difference in people, however, is not in what they say they will do but in what they actually do.

We don’t really judge people by what they say but rather by what they do. We judge people by their behavior and by their actions. The reason for this is that deep down inside we all know that words have no real power to create anything in itself. It is only when the words are backed up by action that you have the power to create any real results. The ironic thing is that although most of us know this we get caught up in accumulating knowledge. We learn something and get really interested in the results we think the information can produce for us. In pursuing the results, we often confuse it with getting more information so we end up gathering and accumulation tons of information and knowledge without producing the result we wanted in the first place.

The proper fruit of knowledge is action. It is true that gaining knowledge can make us feel more capable but knowledge in itself will not produce the results we really desire. One of the biggest myths that is prevalent in the information age is the notion that knowledge is power. Knowledge is not power. It is only potential power. What you do with what you know is where the real power is. The difference in people comes in what they have done differently from someone else with the same information. The reality of the world we live in is that information on almost anything is freely available to anyone, quite literally at the push of a button.

Even though you have all the information at your fingertips, still, the most valuable resource you have to create results in your life is your ability to take action. An action always produces a result. When you take action you bring an idea into effect and you useyour will to do something to achieve a specific purpose. When you do this you actually create in the true sense of the word as you turn an idea into reality; you express something that wasinternal on the outside. Every action is a cause set in motion and for every cause there is an effect and it is the effects or results that we are all really interested in. You don’t want to know that you can be wealthy. You want to experience it by seeing and touching it and the real satisfaction comes from turning your ideas into reality.

There is a big difference between knowing what to do and doing what you know. Most people know what to do to be able to make their lives work but knowing just isn’t enough – we must act and use what we know. Something intangible happens when you take action on an idea. You set in motion a series of events, events that you don’t always know the full consequences of. Like throwing a stone in a pond, the ripple effect of the water affects the whole pond and moves everything that is in or on the pond. This illustrates how a single action can have a significant impact even if you aren’t always aware of it. On a more practical and tangible level you start getting feedback from your actions and you learn things that you can only learn as a result of your actions. These are things you simply cannot learn from merely listening to others or reading books.

Think of your knowledge and ideas as an elastic band. It has the ability to be stretched, but until and unless you stretch it you are not using it for its real purpose. Information is usually something external. When you learn it you transform it into knowledge and when you act on it, it becomes part of your life. To truly experience anything in life you must take action. Knowing simply isn’t enough. We all want to feel and this only comes from engaging “all of you” – by engaging all of your senses to experience the fullness of life in all its abundance.

It doesn’t take many ideas to change something in your life. Neither does it take a complicated idea. It takes ideas that you can use and act upon to give you what you really want. Rarely is it the information or ideas that you really want as it is almost always only the means to an end. What you truly want is results and this will only come from using what you know. Don’t get caught in the flood of information and knowledge. Start to focus your mind on action and on applying ideas instead of accumulating them. Slowly feed yourself more information and knowledge, but let your actions be your ultimate guide. After all it is not what you say you will do but what you actually do that will determine the quality of your life and what you achieve o

Thoughts are Things

“You are just like Joe Btfsplk from Lil Abner, the character with the dark cloud always overhead”. Lil Abner is a cartoon which was written by Al Capp. Joe was a character in the strip, who is the world’s biggest jinx, and whose name is pronounced as follows: “According to Al Capp, btfsplk is a rude sound. During public lectures, Capp demonstrated this phatic sound by closing his lips, leaving his tongue sticking out, and then blowing out air, which is colloquially called a “raspberry” or Bronx cheer.” Joe Btfsplk. Accidents didn’t happen to him, but around him, everywhere he went. My mom used to tell me this all the time, “You are just like Joe Btfsplk”. Can you imagine planting that thought into a child, over and over again. I’m not sure what her intent was, but, at least, I saw it in a positive way; at least the bad turn of events was indirect or away and behind from Joe. I chose not to focus on that thought, but still hung onto that it was said, nonetheless. That spoken thought burned an image into my mind. A man, walking around with a dark cloud perpetually hovering over his head. Sounds of crashes, possibly screams, and all manner of noises, hauntingly following him, around every corner, hill and valley, twist and turn. A curse, or, somehow, a blessing? As I write this, I allow my mind to travel back in time, and explore connections which may help me find more weeds in my garden of today, which were planted long ago, or, perhaps not. But, the journey should be entertaining, if nothing else. Transformations from an image to actions. Even though I tried not to, had I embraced this character as, at least, some part of myself? I had a paper route from the early age of 8. An old-fashioned, hand delivered, house to house job. My brother and I built the route together, from just shy of 20 customers, to over 200, delivering morning, afternoon and on the weekends. I kept this job throughout high school, finally relinquishing it in my senior year, at the age of 18. Perhaps, this helped the Joe in me to stay looking ahead, focused on completing the worthwhile task at hand. What was behind was not important. I had a mission, and a purpose. I just kept on walking, or riding my bicycle in good weather, from door to door, and home again. Off to school, squeezing in a quick breakfast, when I wasn’t running too late. Doing a good job. Feeding the universe more good things, might somehow outweigh any of the bad. Accomplishments, where actions become manifestations. Ultimately I had saved enough money to buy my first car, solely on the proceeds of that paper route. Did that one thought produce the work-ethic, or ultimate car? Probably not. But to this day, the Joe Btfsplk we find ourselves being, when things, although happening for a reason, appear bad, around us, touches our emotions, inspires other thoughts, and ultimately produces actions and things, when fed and watered. Chose the food wisely.
